Mark qualified with a Bachelor of Commerce in Management & Accounting in 2005. He also has qualifications in business studies, marketing and management.

Mark worked for many years in production management before becoming Business Publications Manager in charge of a suite of monthly business journals at Fourth Estate Holdings including titles such as NZ Property Investor, Food Industry Week, NZ Govt & Local Body Tender, Food Industry Week & The Capital Letter.
This was followed by a marketing management role at NBR.

Mark started his accounting career in 2001, joining a family run practice before incorporating The Practice Consultants Limited in early 2005.

Having come from a business background, and previously owned both residential and commercial investment properties, Mark knows many of the challenge’s businesses face. This knowledge enables him to provide effective real world advice.

A key role for Mark is to ensure that the practices and systems within the office provide a consistent and high quality service offering to clients. He deals with clients with empathy and a focus on providing or facilitating solutions to any issues as they emerge.

Mark overviews all of the financial statements, tax returns, GST returns and correspondence that leaves the office. He also reviews every accounting file. He is always available for advice and often acts in an advisory role as clients transition through business sales or acquisitions, or business start-ups, or become involved in re-structuring, all of which give rise to transactions that can have important tax consequences.
